Investment Returned Without Warning
-
Has anyone else had an investment returned to them without any prior notice, nor ANY other communication?
Nik - I've copied you in on my e-mail reply to contributions@intelligentmoney.com
The e-mail address surprises me, as I thought that all e-mails would now be sent from Cobens or Quai e-mail addresses.
I've got a bad feeling about this - I fear the website has been hacked.
-
BTW, I've only had the e-mail - which, stupidly, I replied to, as the details were very precise.
I've not had any actual funds returned, but due to my signiture block, the other party now has my phone number.

Hi G,
The email address is legit. It sounds like the system thinks the recent contribution breaches your remaining ISA allowance. We will come back to you tomorrow.

@Adam-Kay Please do, as I am touching cloth in a big way. I need to be 100% reassured that I've not been hacked, as there are many coincidences surrounding this event, which I can explain offline.
The e-mail had all the signs of a con, but I fired off my first reply in a hasty red mist, and didn't notice the obvious signs.
Thanks for the reassurance,
G

I can assure you, from what I see it looks like the ISA allowance has been breached and if that were the case, you would receive an email from that email account. The email you have is from IM, we still use the domain.
When an ISA contribution is processed, checks are carried out with the custodian and if there is no available allowance the contribution is rejected.

Added, you may think that there was available allowance. That's a different matter. If you could take this offline, email me or Nik with what the concern is. If it's solely regarding the validity of the email address/sender I can confirm it is valid-we sent it. If you think there is an error with the calculated ISA allowance remaining please advise.
Regards
Adam

@Adam-Kay Thanks, the immediate problem (in my mind) has been resolved.
It's now a different problem, which I trust that Nik is resolving off line.
Thanks for lowering my blood pressure with the reassurances about the legitimacy of the e-mail. That was my main concern.
