Performance of the various Cobens portfolios
-
Morning all!
Maybe I should just give @Nik-Burrows a call…..but in case this is of wider use, I’ll pop a question here!Having seen a 30+% “uptick” in performance over the past year (indeed, perhaps the past 7 months), my cautious side tells me to “derisk” some of the gain: in my mind, an upward trajectory cannot continue indefinitely…..unless @Adam-Kay’s crystal ball disagrees with my very amateur assessment?!
I wanted to see how the IM20 stacks up against the Money Markets Fund (& indeed the option for Cash), but I cannot see any of the sort of documents I would expect in “investment tools”, just this message:
“We're rebuilding this section
Following our rebrand, the investment tools and portfolio information previously shown here are being updated. Please check back later.”Where can I find such details, & how defensive are the defensive options?
I obviously appreciate past performance is no guarantee, etc, but even seeing how the various options have done over the past year may be useful enough.
Are the MMF likely to manage 4-5% for the foreseeable?
Another side question could be whether Cobens are 'hedging' things for me - we have chunks in the Lifestyle Growth for Income portfolio: I have no idea whether decisions are being made to 'derisk' things inside there, of course!
Thanks

Hi Mike

Money Markets

MM are cumulative. Index are discrete annual.

That’s a Covid debt decoupling. No MM was only ‘zero’ then as rates were zero effectively.

Google’s talks to lock memory supply through 2035 (plus HP/Dell deals to 2031) are strongly bullish for Micron. Customers only commit a decade out when they fear prolonged shortage, not a quick glut. This adds further credibility to a structural AI-driven cycle lasting far longer than traditional 2-4 year booms. Micron already has multi-year agreements covering ~35% of revenue through 2030 with price protections. Extended visibility reduces classic cycle risk, supports sustained high margins, and favors $MU’s earnings power for years ahead.
There's also the Buckethead track

Have you seen the length of his fingers?!

Thanks Adam. I'll take that as 'all-on-track' and zero to worry about
