Hi, what do you charge for a mortgage search?

I handle my mothers finances and would very much like some help in the mortgage hunt but not if there is a high cost associated with it.

Hi @iestyn and @Slow-Horses We charge a flat rate of £350 for all the research, application, and delivery. For all forum members that join before Christmas we will reduce that to £250. Our mortgage advisers are independent and conduct their research through the whole of the market. They will try and do everything for you and chase through to conclusion. @Nicola-Poole is there such a thing as an offset interest only mortgage these days? If so, are there fixed rate products? Many thanks

@n5tew Good morning, to answer your questions, yes there are a handful of lenders that still offer offset mortgages, though they’re relatively niche now. With these, you only pay interest on your mortgage minus what’s in a linked savings account, which can significantly reduce your interest costs if you hold a large savings balance. There are indeed fixed rate products although they will tend to be notably higher than your conventional fixed rate products.
